Happy Christmas! I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday with their families, and that nobody’s murdered a family member yet. It’s been a pretty close call a couple times here, but so far we have a death toll of 0. I’m so proud of us.

But that’s not what this post is about. This post is a roundup of Christmas posts you might find useful this holiday season. So, instead of talking, I’m going to just go straight into it. Have fun!

Let’s start with food and drink. As is in theme with the aforementioned statement about family, how about a drink? eggnog is always a good choice, and this recipe is the best one I’ve come across. Don’t worry; it tastes nothing like the boxed BS you get at the store.

Rethinking Eggnog

Ok… maybe alcohol isn’t your thing. If that’s the case, maybe go for my spiced hot chocolate, conveniently paired with a recipe for homemade gingerbread!

Chubby Reindeer and Spiced Hot Chocolate

Not saying you can’t make spiked spiced hot chocolate……..(highly recommend, honestly)

Ok, but what about recipes that are good for the holidays? Well, if your holidays are anything like mine, you aren’t always sure how many people are going to drop by, and what they do and don’t eat. So, what’s a safe bet to make and keep on hand? Homemade bread! Great for filling up hungry guests, making turkey sandwiches, and meditative enough to keep you from murdering anyone, it’s always a good bet.

Super Easy Dutch Oven Bread

Ok, but breakfast for a crowd? what could I POSSIBLY make for a dozen hungry people?? Much less, in a decent amount of time?

Anti-Stress Cinnamon Buns

But….. what about a meal? you want something quick, easy, and that will please everyone? Particularly something that is NOT turkey, preferably with no meat? Try my gnocchi!

Mushroom, Thyme, and Sage Gnocchi in a Brown Butter Sauce

But…..what about dessert? Well, when you have people in and out, cookies are the best bet:

Cappuccino Cookies

caffeine+cookies+white chocolate. These WILL keep you up, just warning, but it’s a great combatant to the turkey sleepiness.

The Kitchen Sink Cookies

Either way, always a safe bet.

If not cookies, you can always make some bourbon-ginger peaches, and serve them over vanilla ice cream!

Bourbon-Ginger Peaches

ok, ok, ok, ok. Enough about food…..What about surviving the holidays?

For some help with getting through the holidays, you can always take a look at my An Introvert’s Guide series.

Ok…And finally, something for the graduating kids dealing with the question “what university are you attending next year” from literally everyone this holiday season

The Peril of the University Application Process: a Visual (and Emotional) Breakdown

No matter what you’re doing this holiday season, I hope this could help you out a little-whether with a recipe, a laugh, or a new reason to drink.

Have a Joyful holiday!

  1. Love you, Titia!
Yummy recipes.. it’s funny because I’m inviting a family of 3 generations over for cocoa and eggnog. Part of the deal is that the little kids get to choose one of Opi’s dancing animals to take home. ( Shhh) The zoo is getting overcrowded
